Boles ISD District Counselor

About Me: My name is ShaRee’ Harris and I’m proud to be the District School Counselor for Boles ISD. This will be my 3rd year at Boles, my 5th year as a District School Counselor, and my 19th year as an educator. My husband and I have been married for 17 years. When Patrick and I were first married he was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and we lived in North Carolina. We lived in North Carolina for 5 years and had our two daughters: Scarlett and Savannah. After Patrick’s 10 years of service, we moved back to Texas and decided to raise our family away from the city. Patrick and I are both from Garland, he attended Naaman Forrest High School and I attended Garland High School. We had enough of city life and decided we wanted to raise our girls in a community, that is when we found a house in Point, and we have never looked back.

The really cool thing about marrying a Marine is that I had the opportunity to move around, in fact, Boles is the 8th school and 7th school district that I have worked in. I’ve known since the 1st grade that I wanted to be a teacher, and later I realized that I wanted to be able to advocate for students in ways that I was unable to in a classroom setting. I recieved my Masters of Arts in School Counseling in 2015.

As The District School Counselor, I provide the following services:

Individual Counseling

Group Counseling

Peer to Peer Counseling

This year I will use the “Safe & Caring Schools Activities for Building Character and Social- Emotional Learning” curriculum to do weekly counseling lessons with the high school and middle school students, and monthly lessons with elementary students. My main office is located at the high school, but I also provide middle school counseling in my middle school office on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1:00-3:45pm. High School studnets can use the online appointment feature to schedule an appointment, and middle school and elementary students can ask their teacher to come and see me.

The really great thing about working at Boles is that I get to work with the school board, superintendent, campus principals, campus teachers, Region 10, community organizations, and students to create a comprehensive counseling program that meets the needs of students across the Boles Community.
