Dear Parents of 12th grade students,

Your child’s high school education is nearing completion. The last few years have certainly been challenging and rewarding as your student progressed academically and personally towards graduation day.

For many families, higher education is the next step of their journey. But with the stresses of the college application process and trying to figure out financial aid, you and your student are most likely beginning to feel a little overwhelmed.

Fortunately, help is available. In cooperation with the Texas A&M University we will be hosting a free Financial Aid Night for students and families on October 10th.

Participants will learn how to apply for all types of financial aid, including completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is required to determine eligibility for most student aid programs such as the Federal Pell Grant, institutional awards, and federal student and parent loans.

Participants will also be briefed on the importance of minimizing student loan debt and applying for grants and scholarships to help pay for education costs.

Kourtney Davis from Texas A&M Commerce, will be available to provide information and answer questions.
