A Letter to Students

August 1, 2016

Dear Hornet Nation,

The teachers, staff, and administrators of Boles High School hope that you are enjoying a fun-filled, relaxing, and rejuvenating summer break!  I cannot believe the start of the 2016-2017 school year is right around the corner.  It seems the quicker it comes, the quicker it goes!  Boles High School is preparing for an amazing school year full of achievement, success, and unforgettable moments.  BHS will strive to achieve recognition and success in several areas.  This year we are introducing a Dual Credit program exclusive to Boles High School students.  The courses will be taught by our teachers, who will serve as adjunct professors for The University of Texas A&M Commerce.  In addition, we are implementing a Dual Credit hybrid model with professors from Texas A&M Commerce and Paris Junior College.  At the beginning of their Sophomore year, students will have the opportunity to earn up to 30 hours of college credit at Boles High School.  Another highlight of our Dual Credit program is the opportunity for TUITION REIMBURSEMENT for courses taken at Boles High School.  The district will also pay for textbooks for our dual credit courses.  We are excited about this new endeavor, and look forward to watching our Hornets Shine!  In addition to our Dual Credit courses, we are excited about adding academic courses such as Principles of Audio Visual Technology and American Sign Language II.  Please see the attached document for new course offerings.  Beyond academics, Boles High School is implementing a character education program based on our theme.  “Hornets Shine!  Be Humble and Kind” is our theme for the upcoming school year.  We will use the terms humble and kind in all that we do and say at Boles High School.  We will have character lessons based on being humble and kind.  We are excited about watching our students grow through kindness and learning how to be humble!

Boles High School takes pride in our ability to serve our students by providing a small school environment where relationships are the key to learning.  We believe this aspect is crucial to the success of BHS.  To foster the continued growth of relationships among students, parents, staff, and community; frequent communication between school and home must be present.  Please share any concerns, information, achievements, or problems that relate to your child.  We are here to serve our students, parents, and community.  We look forward to working with you, and watching our Hornets Shine!

Please follow us on Facebook, and on our new website, www.bolesisd.com.  Contact us if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Sincerely,
